The vicious competition in the LED market with price wars has led to a large number of unqualified products being launched, which goes against the true values of LEDs such as energy efficiency, long lifespan, and environmental friendliness. To distinguish the quality of LED lamps, the following aspects should be considered:
- Check the overall “power factor of the lamp”: A low power factor indicates poor quality of the driving power supply and circuit design, which will significantly reduce the service life of the lamp. Even if high-quality lamp beads are used, the lifespan of the lamp will not be long if the power factor is low.
- Check the “heat dissipation conditions of the lamp – materials and structure”: Heat dissipation is crucial for LED lamps. For lamps with the same power factor and lamp beads of the same quality, poor heat dissipation will cause the lamp beads to work at high temperatures, leading to significant light decay and shortened lamp lifespan.
- Check the “quality of lamp beads”: The quality of lamp beads depends on the quality of the chip and packaging technology.
- Check the driving power supply used in the lamp: Compared with other parts of the lamp, the service life of the power supply is much shorter. The lifespan of the power supply affects the overall lifespan of the lamp. The theoretical lifespan of lamp beads is 50,000-100,000 hours, while that of the power supply is 2,000-30,000 hours. The design and material selection of the power supply determine its service life.
- Check the luminous efficacy: For lamp beads of the same power, higher luminous efficacy means higher brightness. For the same lighting brightness, lower power consumption and better energy efficiency can be achieved.
- Check the power supply efficiency: The higher the power supply efficiency, the better. A higher efficiency indicates lower power consumption of the power supply itself and greater output power.
- Check whether it meets safety standards: China has issued safety standards for LED lamps. Please choose LED lamps in accordance with the national safety standards.
- Check the workmanship: See if the workmanship is fine.
In addition to the main aspects mentioned above, a high-quality LED lamp also needs to meet different technical requirements according to different usage environments, such as moisture resistance, dust resistance, magnetic resistance, and lightning protection.
